10 Most Dangerous Places To Live In The DC Universe

9. Suicide Slum

Known as the Southside and Hob’s Bay, Suicide Slum was a financially depressed and crime-ridden area of Metropolis just two miles from the Daily Planet. The 100, an enormous criminal organization, and the Apokolips supplied, high-tech Intergang have thrived in the corruption of the area.

The area has been one of desolation, desperation, and poverty. The buildings were always in a state of disrepair and were easy targets for destruction in the midst of superhero fights. When Brainiac unleashed his virus to turn Metropolis into a “city of tomorrow”, Suicide Slum turned into an area of engines, conduits, and a hydroelectric dam with a sheer drop that quickly became a site for suicides.

The area is not without its safe spaces and defenders. Bibbo has a solid right hook for anyone that causes trouble at his Ace O’ Clubs Bar. John Henry Irons Steelworks is a high-tech oasis and a place to hone his armored identity, Steel. School teachers Black Lightning and Gangbuster have kept the streets safe and the Guardian could be counted on to stop trouble and the Newsboy Legion could be counted on to get into it.

When not spending far too much time on the internet, John spends time with his lovely wife, Kim, their goofy dog, Tesla, and two very spoiled cats.
