5. The Fortress Of Solitude

One of the most impossible excursions on Earth would be to Superman’s fabled Fortress of Solitude. Its classic location was 130 miles south of the North Pole in The Arctic. The Fortress had a giant door that required an equally large key that was on a flat peak a few miles away. It required both super strength and flight simply to get through the door. From there, it gets complicated.

Once inside, if the alarms don’t immediately sound, Superman’s majordomo, Kelex, and any number of Kryptonian helper robots will need to be dealt with. If one made it as far as the intergalactic zoo, there were many creatures that would stop a person in their tracks. For instance, the Black Mercy could trap someone in a dream state that they would find impossible to leave. Touching the wrong button on the Phantom Zone Projector would draw a person into the formless Zone.

Even if someone got through all the security the Fortress held, they would still have to contend with the Fortress’ permanent resident: Krypto the Superdog. All the powers of Superman in the body of a dog whose home you've just invaded. You’ll hope that Superman shows up in time.
