2. He Nearly Destroyed The World With Brother Eye

When Batman learned the Justice League were lobotomising supervillains, he was beyond disgusted. To make matters worse, Zatanna wiped his memory so he had no recollection that the League were carrying out lobotomies.

When he regained his memory years later, he abandoned the Justice League, believing his friends had betrayed him. He also had a falling out with Superman after the telepath, Maxwell Lord, brainwashed the Man of Steel to pummel Bats to the brink of death.

These events inspired Batman to construct a surveillance satellite called Brother Eye to monitor superheroes to make sure they weren't misusing their power. However, Maxwell Lord managed to hack into Brother Eye, allowing him to learn the identities of all of Earth's superheroes.

Lord believed metahumans would inevitably destroy the world and so, orchestrated his sleeper agents, the OMACs, to wipe them out. Thanks to Brother Eye, Lord was able to locate, hunt, and kill metahumans with ease.

This means that Batman's paranoia indirectly led to the death of hundreds of metahumans. When Brother Eye was destroyed, Batman admitted he was wrong with how he reacted, and he shouldn't have let his rage blind him.
