Though many have come close, there hasn't been a better Punisher cover since his first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #129.

The two are both on the hunt for the other, though neither are aware of the price on their heads. Parker is berated by Jameson for bringing more pictures of Spider-Man, but none of the new crime-fighting vigilante. Meanwhile, Punisher has been hired by the Jackal to take out the wall crawler once and for all.

The incredible cover by Gil Kane, John Romita and Gaspar Saladino was an instant classic. The eye grabbing bold yellow background stood out from anything else on the shelves at the time.

Featuring our hero in the crosshairs as Punisher takes aim, there are few covers to this day that look quite as stunning as this.

The cover has gone on to be homaged multiple times, with the issue "What If... The Punisher Had Killed Spider-Man" sporting the same layout, but with updated character designs and Spider-Man laid out defeated. 2011's Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates also paid respects to the original artwork, showing the moment Spidey tries to save Captain America from being shot by the Punisher.
