10 Most Iconic Superhero Symbols

3. Spider-Man

Of all the symbols shown on this list, this one is by far the one that's gone through the most changes over the years. While the core idea has always remained somewhat intact, almost every artist who's worked on the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has given his spider logo a new, different look.

This trend has continued with the MCU, where every movie has a different version of every superhero's costume - Spidey included - potentially in the interest of merchandising.

Whether you prefer the classic Steve Ditko-era costume, the sleek John Romita Jr. design, the advanced suit from the 2018 PS4 game from Insomniac or any of the hundred other versions of Peter Parker's long underwear, that symbol retains the same basic idea; a six-legged spider (because proper anatomy is no substitute for aesthetics) in the center of the suit's chest and back, to break up the red that would otherwise dominate the suit.

Despite the snark, it really is a great design for a superhero symbol, and one that anyone at first glance can immediately tell belongs to the web-head. As long as they have that going for it, then Marvel is doing just fine with Spider-Man.
