10 Most Iconic Superhero Symbols

For better or worse, this is one of the most recognizable symbols in the entire Marvel canon.

It's actually a pretty ingeniously simple design. It's just a skull with the teeth and cheekbones stretched out just enough to be striking and stylized without being ridiculous (and if you want ridiculous, try the 2099 Punisher on for size).

This symbol is most often emblazoned on the chest of whatever Frank Castle is wearing, usually an undershirt beneath a long overcoat, where it's just visible enough to be threatening to any criminal who may see it. But whatever he's wearing, you can be sure that Castle will have his famous symbol front and center to make sure that his enemies know that their punishment has arrived.

Whatever you may think of the Punisher's methods, it cannot be denied how iconic his skull symbol is.
