8. Deathstroke Sleeps With His Son's Fiancée - DC Rebirth: Deathstroke
He may not look it, but Deathstroke the Terminator is a family man at heart. Although he has trouble expressing his feelings, he cares deeply for his son Jericho, and is worried when he starts to suspect that Jericho's fiancée, Étienne, may actually be a spy.
So, he does what any caring father in his situation would do: he seduces and sleeps with Étienne, in an attempt to prove that she isn't really in love with his son. This does not work, because even though she went along with it, Étienne still maintains she still loves Jericho and plans to go ahead with the wedding. Things get even more complicated when Étienne is discovered dead on the morning of the ceremony, and naturally Deathstroke gets the blame.
It is later revealed that the killer may have actually been Jericho's mother, who believed her son to be gay and didn't think it was right for him to marry a woman. Jericho is, in fact, not gay or straight, having a much more fluid sexuality, something his mother just can't wrap her head around. Talk about parent troubles!
This is not the first time Deathstroke has been portrayed as having questionable taste in romantic partners. In The Judas Contract, one of the most celebrated Teen Titans storylines, it is heavily and repeatedly implied that he's been sleeping with Terra, the 16 year-old ex-Titan. We suppose he is supposed to be a villain, and you'd never catch a middle-aged superhero dating a teenager! Right...?
