10 Most Insane Alternate Universe Batmen

1. The Drowned

Batman Grim Reaper
DC Comics

Bryce Wayne was Bruce’s gender-swapped equivalent in Earth -11. Two crucial tragedies led to her debut, in Dark Days: The Casting #1, as the Dark Knight’s only Batwoman. In line with typical canon, her father, Martin Wayne, was shot in an alleyway. However, the incident that sent Bryce over the edge was the murder of her boyfriend Sylvester Kyle by rogue metahumans.

After slaughtering every superhuman protecting land, Bryce was convinced she’d made Earth -11 safe. However, Aquawoman and the Atlanteans returned. There were initial talks of peace and a treaty between humans and Atlanteans, though violence won out.

In the resulting war, Bryce killed the Queen of Atlantis with her own trident. The mourning Atlanteans retaliated by drowning Gotham, forcing Bryce to perform bio-mechanical augmentations on her own body. Becoming a pale-skinned and black lipped monstrous mix between Batwoman and Aquawoman, she used her acquired hydrokinesis to convert her Atlantean foes into a sea monster army. She conquered Atlantis and drowned the rest of the world.

As her Earth neared its death, she was recruited by the Batman Who Laughs and took the alias The Drowned.
