10 Most Interesting Batman Villains You've Never Heard Of

4. The Getaway Genius

Roy Reynolds was an interesting Batman villain introduced in the 1960s, not because he wanted to beat the Dark Night, but because he wanted to avoid him entirely. Reynolds became known as the "Getaway Genius," and for good reason at least, where Batman was concerned.

Reynolds came to realize that the reason nobody had ever managed to beat Batman was that they continuously tried to take him on. Reynolds realized he could steal the loot in whatever caper he was planning, and instead of dealing with the Dark Knight directly, he planned elaborate getaways, taking Batman out of the equation.

When Batman realized what the Getaway Genius was doing, he came up with his own plan. Batman and Robin opted to arrange a spectacle of their own defeat, which would then leave the Dynamic Duo vulnerable to the Getaway Genius' goons. The gang couldn't resist the opportunity to take out the superheroes, which ultimately drew them into the Bat's plan.

They quickly and easily captured the Getaway Genius' gang, and it wasn't long before they were telling Batman and Robin exactly where they could find the elusive criminal. Unfortunately, the character hasn't had many appearances outside of his reign in the 1960s, but he did show up in Batman '66 #30 as an attendee at the Villian Conference held by the Joker, Catwoman, and the Penguin.
