10 Most Interesting Marvel Superhero Teams You've Never Heard Of

5. Knights Of Pendragon

Midnight Sons
Marvel Comics

After Captain Britain proved to be a big success, Marvel tried to expand their brand in Britain with the Marvel UK line. One of the comics to come out of it was the Knights of Pendragon.

The series was based around the idea that King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table were actually superheroes brought together by the Green Knight (from the story Sir Gawain and the Green Knight) and empowered by the Pendragon Force.

In more modern times, the Green Knight gathered a new group to serve as his knights and help him protect the environment from Bane, the spirit of winter (who did not wear a luchador mask) and the technomagical organisation Mys-Tech.

The team were mostly ordinary people who were given powers by the Pendragon Force and all equated to a figure from Arthurian legend. They included the wizard Albion (Merlin), the sword-wielding Adam Crown (King Arthur), the former agent of Bane Francesca Grace (Morgan Le Fey), reporter Kate McClellan (Guinevere) and the Grail-obsessed Ben Gallagher (Percival). They were also joined by the superhero Union Jack (Lancelot) and a sentient theme park robot of Sir Gawain.

The team disbanded at the end of their series and haven't been seen much since the end of the Marvel UK line.

I was just a mild-mannered NCTJ accredited journalist until one day I found out the truth... that I could share my nerdy ramblings with people on the internet! It's just like mumbling to myself on the train, but without all the strange looks.
