Now we go from an X-Man who's a non-mutant human, to one who's a non-human mutant.

Warlock is a member of a race of robotic aliens called the Technarchy. Like all members of his race, Warlock can control every part of his body, shapeshifting into any form he chooses. He can also drain the life energy of any living creature. However, Warlock's mutation is that, unlike the rest of his race, he feels compassion and refuses to drain the life of sentient beings.

Warlock joined the other young students at the Xavier Institute to form the New Mutants. While on the team, Warlock became best friends with Doug Ramsay, who went by Cypher. In battle, Warlock would always go out of his way to protect Cypher, which only served to lower his self-esteem. Doug would later get his wish to fight by himself though and promptly found that the ability to speak every language isn't much help against bullets.

Warlock would also later die at the hands of cyborg Cameron Hodge. He was resurrected though as Douglock, the body of Warlock with the memories of Cypher. When he learned the truth, Warlock reverted to his old self.

He was also able to later save Doug when he was resurrected by Selene and the two of them went on to join the latest version of the New Mutants, having both learned the importance of choosing your battles.
