10 Most Messed Up Batman Moments

DC's recent out-of-continuity miniseries about a world brought to ruin by a corrupted version of the anti-life equation stored in Cyborgs body is, from the very beginning, absolutely harrowing. Beloved characters are de-humanised, while others are forced into killing those they love for the greater good. In particular, the beloved butler, Alfred Pennyworth is forced to kill his surrogate sons, Batman, Tim Drake, and Nightwing as they are infected. With Pennyworth leaving it until the very last moment as the man he has raised, picked back up when he fell and stitched him up when he pushed himself too far, is transformed into a mindless, rabid monstrosity.

In spite of the harrowing nature of the comic- this being just one of many disturbing moments- DCeased is a fantastic read and well worth checking out today, as a third volume relatively recently wrapped up. Friends, fond memories and foes past rivalries are rendered irrelevant, with it becoming an all out struggle for survival. A wide cast of characters are present, with no plot-armour or favouritism shown to any of the big hitters in the DC Universe. Everyone is fair game, and often it is those they loved most who are forced to deal with them.
