10 Most Powerful Batman Villains

9. Prometheus

On the other side of the spectrum is Prometheus, one of the few people who can lay claim to having beaten Batman at his own game not once but twice. He's technically more of a Justice League villain, but traditionally it's the Caped Crusader he's been pitted against specifically. Probably because his origin story reads like the yang to Batman's yin.

The son of two killers who were gunned down in front of him by police during a cross-country crime spree, Prometheus's hair turned white from the trauma and he vowed to get revenge on the €œforces of justice€, travelling the world and learning all the talents he'd need to be the world's greatest supervillain. That didn't quite pan out, obviously, but he gave it the old college try.

Prometheus's real power was, much like Batman's: being prepared for any eventuality. To bring down the Dark Knight the first (and most famous) time, he downloaded the martial arts skills of the world's greatest fighters into his brain.
