9. Bor - Thor #600 (2009)
Centuries ago, Loki had Odin's father and Thor's grandfather, Bor, turned to snow, apparently killing him. Being a Frost Giant, Loki was able to manipulate the snow so Bor stayed alive for hundreds of years and intended to resurrect him in his original form when it suited his needs.
In the modern era, Loki decided to discredit Thor by having him murder his own grandfather in front of the other Asgardians. He uses his dark magic to revive Bor and forced him to see everyone as a threat. After he unleashed his fury upon New York, Thor stepped in to take him down, unaware that his enemy was of his own blood.
Bor proved to be one of Thor's greatest adversaries since he could wield and hurl Mjolnir with ease. In the final moments of the battle, Thor struck Bor with so much force, a chunk of Mjolnir cracked off.
Although Mjolnir has been damaged and shattered in the past, Thor said this was the first time it has ever fractured simply by striking someone. Only after the fight was over did Thor realise he was battling his grandfather. Sadly, the impact of Mjolnir was too great and Bor perished.
