6. Arnim Zola's Mutates - Captain America Vol. 7 #6
Once a geneticist in the Nazi Party, Arnim Zola's technical know-how earned him a spot in HYDRA. The evil mastermind has used his knowledge to both transfer his consciousness into a robotic body as well as serve as an antagonist to Captain America in contemporary times.
While the automaton (in addition to Zola's natural body) is not that imposing, the scientist's creations have been able to challenge many heroes in the past - Captain America included.
One such instance happened in the Castaway in Dimension Z story arc, where Captain America and Zola's son Ian were trapped in the titular realm following a botched clash between the hero and the villain's forces.
As Steve and the younger Zola bond over time and even forge alliances with the indigenous population of Dimension Z, the Avenger is forced to go up against Zola's mutates and viciously fight them to survive. This took on a darker turn when Steve discovered that some of the artificial beings were modelled in his image.
