The leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Max Eisenhardt/Erik Lehnsherr's metal manipulation abilities makes him one of the most powerful beings on the planet, mutant or otherwise. His mind-blowing feats of power include ripping Wolverine's adamantium-coated skeleton from his body, fight off multiple Avengers and of course, manhandle Iron Man.

The last feat is a given seeing that the latter's suits serve as fodder for the Master of Magnetism, usually. Tony is a genius who has developed numerous suits over the years after all, so if given enough time he can develop the appropriate countermeasures for his mutant opponent.

This was definitely the case in the 23rd issue of the universe-jumping Exiles Volume 1, a story that explored an alternate world where Iron Man took over the planet and killed a swath of super-beings by starting a human/mutant war. Individuals such as Captain America and Dr. Doom were some of the casualties of this conflict.

After the conflict ended, Tony murdered Max on national television in an attempt to legitimise his rise to power.
