10 Most Powerful Characters Killed By Superman

4. A Rogue Sun-Eater - Action Comics #847

Superman The Flash DCeased
DC Comics

Another one of DC’s more esoteric species, the purpose of Sun-Eaters is all in their name. After creation, they traverse the cosmos and absorb stellar radiation in order to cause stars to go supernova. After this, the alien entities feed off the energies of the destructive event and proceed to look for other stars to consume and destroy. Clearly, they are very powerful beings but are not entirely invincible as seen in a 2007 Action Comics issue.

Worried about her son’s wellbeing in the Phantom Zone, Martha Kent expresses concern to Jonathan about the impending invasion from Zod and his allies. Jonathan attempts to alleviate his wife’s woes by sharing a tale about their son’s indomitable will in the face of adversity.

A while back, father and son embarked on an interstellar trip that saw Clark an alien civilization defeat a rogue Sun-Eater. While the superhero did not use his powers in battle (mostly due to the presence of red solar radiation), he was instrumental in its defeat by transporting a powerful explosive known as an Entropy Bomb to the entity’s core.

In addition to this entry being one of its kind due to Sun-Eaters not being sentient beings, it is not every day that Superman’s parents are involved in his adventures, especially the otherworldly ones.
