10 Most Powerful Characters Killed By Thor
4. Bor - Thor #600
It is no secret that Thor's family ties (aside from his relationship with his mother) are shaky at best. As mentioned before, he and Loki do not get along, and while he respects Odin, the All-Father has not always set the best example for his son. So, it was not surprising that his first encounter with his grandfather, Bor Burison, would not be the most ideal.
Following the events of the Ragnarok storyline, Thor, Loki, Sif and the other Asgardians resettled in Oklahoma, and the God of Thunder had hoped to start afresh and finally reconcile with his brother. Unfortunately, Loki did not feel the same way and was instead scheming to put an end to his brother.
To achieve this, he resurrected and set his adoptive grandfather loose on Earth but also brainwashed him into thinking the planet was a frightful hellscape. The confused Bor then went on a rampage that quickly got Thor's attention, and the two got into a devastating fight that resulted in Bor's death.
Unfortunately for the hero, the murder of his grandfather led to his banishment from Asgard until the events of the Siege story arc.
