Mutants have received a lot of praise from other fighters in the Marvel universe - hailed as the next stage of evolution by some, and as apex predators by others. With a pedigree like that, how could Marvel's greatest hunter resist? Written in 2022 by Benjamin Percy and pencilled by Robert Gill, X-Force #33 sees Kraven turn Krakoa into his personal hunting ground.
This story has a bad start for Wolverine. First, he discovers that some of the "eggs" used for mutant resurrection have been sabotaged. Then, Logan discovers that his Beast is in trouble in the island's Shadow Room, a special training simulator - and that simulator is currently filled with dinosaurs.
Racing to Beast's aid, he discovers that it's a trap. Kraven the Hunter has turned the Shadow Room into a hunter's paradise, filled with savage beasts, and now he wants a showdown with the X-Men's own wild animal - Wolverine himself.
After an intense battle in the Shadow Room, Wolverine sees a chance to land a killing blow on the Hunter - but he doesn't take it. Like a true predator, Wolverine does not kill without necessity. He strides from the Shadow Room, having earned Kraven's grudging respect.
