5. Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange, aka Stephen Strange, aka the Sorcerer Supreme, is the most powerful magician on planet Earth. Given the previously mentioned title that's probably a given, but when you consider the kind of threats he's been up against you begin to get a good understanding of just how powerful he truly is.
Most supernatural characters in the Marvel Universe tend to operate within one circle. Bar Robbie Reyes, who is now a fully-fledged member of the Avengers, pretty much every Ghost Rider has played things safe on Earth, taking on demons and other assorted hellish beings. The likes of Blade, Daimon Hellstrom and other supernatural Marvel figures are similar, but Strange is different.
Since his creation in the 1960s by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Doctor Strange has fought alongside the Avengers, where he played a pivotal role in saving the universe from Thanos; the Defenders, of which he was a founding member together with Namor and the Incredible Hulk; and even the Illuminati, a team comprised of the Marvel Universe's foremost thinkers.
Point being, Strange isn't only the best magic user going, but also one who has proven his worth time and again against threats both of this Earth and not. He was even described as "the mightiest magician in all the cosmos" by Eternity, the living embodiment of time, so it's probably best to take their word for it.
