10 Most Powerful Marvel Heroes Of All Time

3. Captain Marvel

Life Of Captain Marvel Carol Danvers
Marvel Comics

Much has been made of Captain Marvel's power in the build up to her MCU debut this March, and for good reason. The character, first introduced as Ms. Marvel all the way back in the 1960s, possesses the power of the Kree and was even experimented on by the Brood, which turned her into the character known as Binary.

While in her Binary form, which first appeared in 1982, Carol can tap into the power of a white hole and can thus manipulate all energy, including gravity, heat, and the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Taking into account the sheer amount of times she's acted like a one-man army, as well as the limitless potential of her power-set, and it's easy to see why her arrival in the MCU is being held as a game changer.

In a way, though, it's not Carol's immense abilities that best illustrate her power, but instead her endurance. She's overcome so many threats and tragedies since her initial introduction, rising to one of the most prominent positions in the Marvel Universe and as Earth's key intergalactic diplomat, heading up Alpha Flight as the planet's first and last line of defence against interstellar threats.

She's a leader, a fighter and a winner, and would still be one even without the abilities she possesses.
