10 Most Powerful Mutants In Marvel History

8. Vulcan

Jean Grey Phoenix Resurrection
Marvel Comics

The Summers family is full of powerful Mutants with Scott (Cyclops) and Alex (Havok) being well-known for decades. As it happens, there exists a third, younger brother named Gabriel who goes by the name Vulcan, and he is the most powerful of the three.

Vulcan began life on the Shi'ar homeworld where he was ripped from his slain mother's womb and placed into an incubation chamber, which artificially aged him to adulthood. After finding himself on Earth, he was rescued by Moira MacTaggert who, alongside Professor Xavier, helped to determine his true origins and make him a member of the X-Men.

In terms of powers, Vulcan has the ability to completely manipulate, control, and absorb all forms of energy. Because matter and energy are equal, this means he can alter and control pretty much anything in the Universe with little to no limitations.

He has used his abilities to survive within the vacuum of space, subsist on energy without having to ingest food, manipulate the electric impulses within a person's brain to use their powers, form energy into matter, and just about anything else imaginable. His powers were increased following M-Day, and he has since been confirmed to be an Omega-Level Mutant.
