10 Most Powerful X-Men Of All Time

3. Jean Grey

That said, if you don't wanna mess with Professor X, then you definitely don't want to get on the bad side of somebody who's been dead, like six or seven times, depending on how you slice it. Especially since she's come back from each supposed death more powerful than before, thanks to the cosmic Phoenix force who tapped her as host when she was at the height of her abilities.

In fact Jean Grey's psychic powers are so great that they manifested themselves when she was still a kid, and it's only with the help of Xavier blocking them that she didn't turn herself - and possibly the rest of existence - inside out. When she got hold of her full powers again, Jean could do everything Xavier could, and more to boot. She can read minds, control minds, boost other's abilities, has a perfect memory, can talk to animals, and project herself through the astral plane. That would have been enough to get her on board with the Omega Level Mutants, but it was coming into contact with the celestial Phoenix Force that pushed her to the top of the most powerful mutants ever. And it was her abilities that got her the attention of the force in the first place which, considering it scours the entire galaxy for people worthy of its power, is pretty impressive in itself.

After she went full Phoenix, Jean could manipulate matter at a subatomic level, create wormholes allowing for faster-than-light travel across the universe, and lets her bring both herself and other people back from the dead. Along with killing thousands of people, as she did when the Phoenix powers went to her head a bit and turned her all bad. Still, that was pretty cool too, since she managed to create a huge flaming bird in the vacuum of space! Now that's power.
