10 Most Powerful X-Men Villains

9. Juggernaut

Magneto X Men
Marvel Comics

Cain Marko hated his step-brother Charles Xavier, and that hatred carried over after he came into contact with the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak. When he read the inscription on the stone, he was changed forever:

"Whosoever touches this gem shall be granted the power of the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak! Henceforth, you who read these words shall become ... forevermore ... a human juggernaut!"

The newly christened Juggernaut became an immediate threat to anyone he comes in contact with, and he set his sights on Charles and his team of mutants. The Juggernaut is mystically-powered, and he cannot be stopped or killed, making him one of the X-Men's greatest threats.

So long as he has his magical armor, he's protected, and while his helmet is on, he isn't susceptible to telepathic attack, which makes him an easy match for his step-brother. The Juggernaut has been a featured character in a plethora of X-Men storylines, and he's also been a major player in the Marvel Universe as a whole.

He's gained powers, lost them, and been boosted to the level of a god. In his most standard depiction, he's as strong as the Hulk, is immune to telepathic attacks, possesses a mystical force field, has superhuman stamina, and he can't be stopped once he begins moving. The Juggernaut is the Marvel Universe version of both an unstoppable force and an immovable object.
