10 Most Powerful X-Men Villains
7. Mister Sinister
Mister Sinister showed up in the X-Men universe thanks to Chris Claremont, who wanted a new supervillain so he wouldn't have to keep going back to Magneto all the time. He laid a doozy on the team with Mister Sinister, a guy who is incredibly powerful, but more dangerous through his manipulation and scheming than anything else.
When he was first revealed in 1986, it was clear that he was the man responsible for ordering the "Mutant Massacre" by employing an army of villains to kill the Morlocks. More than that, he cloned Jean Grey to produce Madelyne Pryor so she could give birth to Cable.
Even more manipulative than that, he had a hand in Cyclops' childhood, making him a key figure in pretty much everything that's happened to the X-Men for some time. He is later revealed to be a 19th-century man named Nathaniel Essex, a scientist obsessed with evolution, who made a deal with Apocalypse, who transformed him into an immortal being.
Everything he does is a plot within a plot wrapped in a scheme, and that's only the beginning of this dangerous villain. In addition to his vast intellect and immortality, he possesses telekinesis, telepathy, superhuman strength, superhuman durability, molecular manipulation of his own body, and he can fire off concussive energy blasts.
