10 Most Powerful X-Men Villains
3. Nimrod
He may have a silly-sounding name, but everything about Nimrod is deadly serious.
The character first appeared in X-Men #191 back in March of '85. He was dreamed up by Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr. as a powerful foe in the "Days of Future Past" storyline.
Nimrod is a Sentinel of the future, and he stands as the ultimate version of that deadly robotic corps. He is virtually indestructible, and because he was created in the alternate future to hunt down and destroy mutants, that's exactly what he does. The problem is he's also really, really good at doing just that.
Nimrod can completely change his form to look like a person or adapt to any situation, which makes him an excellent infiltrator. Think of a Terminator who is malevolent, sentient, driven, and can blend into any place or time. He was brought back from the future, and instantly became one of the X-Men's greatest enemies.
His story changes over time, and he can reprogram himself, but in terms of sheer power, he has it in spades. He can reintegrate himself if he's destroyed, is capable of going toe-to-toe with the Juggernaut in terms of strength, can hack any device, and can alter himself to fight any opponent, regardless of their powers or skill. He can also project energy blasts, make force fields, teleport, and can even levitate material around him.
