Across the pantheon of the Marvel Universe, Firelord is one of the absolute most powerful beings in all existence.

A on-off Herald of Galactus, this Power Cosmic-fuelled figure has all kinds of intergalactic abilities in much the same vein as the beloved Silver Surfer. And unfortunately for Spider-Man, he once found himself involved in an impossible fight against Firelord back during The Amazing Spider-Man #269 and #270.

The bizarre reason given in this Tom DeFalco-penned issue for Firelord's presence on Earth, was that he was seeking to sample the delights of the humble pizza. Yes, the planet's pizza is famous throughout the stars as being a true delicacy.

Either way, a mishap in a pizzeria saw some regular citizens engage in a fight with Firelord. Seeing this, Spider-Man stepped into quell the situation, in turn putting himself up against this otherworldly being.

With nothing working against his foe, Spidey's fight with Firelord takes the pair through buildings, rivers, train tunnels, demolition yards and gas stations before the Wall-crawler is left with no option but to just fall back on the most fundamental of his skills - punching someone in the face over and over again.

Relying on his enhanced speed and reflexes, Spider-Man does the unthinkable in overcoming the ridiculous odds to punch Firelord so many times that he blacks out.
