Some of most powerful characters in DC Comics are almost like gods, but Billy Batson is one of the few is literally has the power of a god. Now better known by his catchphrase Shazam for obvious legal reasons, Captain Marvel was blessed with the abilities of multiple mythic beings by some weird wizard due, each corresponding to a letter of the magical phrase he utters to transform between little kid Batson and his superhero alter ego: S for Solomon, H for Hercules, A for Atlas, Z for Zeus, A for Achilles, and M for Mercury. In case you're not as up on your Greek myths as you perhaps should be (or it's been a while since you watched Disney's Hercules), that means Captain Marvel is blessed with superhuman intelligence, clairvoyance, expert hypnotic powers, superhuman strength and stamina, self-sustenance (so he doesn't need to eat, sleep, or breathe), resistance to magic, a crazy healing factor, he can hurl thunder bolts, is invulnerable, can fly, and teleport. Which is like somebody reached into a bag of superpowers and picked out every single slip in it. Batson also gets all of those gods' other traits, including blinding optimism and courage, which added to his childlike naivety at least means that you don't have to worry about his powers being used for evil.
