10 Most Unhinged Comic Book Characters
3. Legion
Legion's head isn't as much of a cuckoo's nest as it is an entire forest filled with relentlessly chirping birds. An omega level mutant with split personality disorder, Legion's name is incredibly apt yet even "we are one, we are many" falls a little short.
The child of Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X, David Charles Haller was originally thought to be nothing more than your garden variety of a super powerful telepath, yet both the origin of his budding powers (which saw him absorb the mind of a terrorist) and being possessed by the longtime adversary of the X-Men, the Shadow King, kind of pushed him over the edge. More so, that is.
Legion's jarring mental state has been explained as his innate mutant ability of being able to spontaneously develop powers, yet each comes with a new voice in his head. It's been said that he possesses over 200 omega level powers, including the likes of reality warping, matter manipulation and time travel, and even his super powerful dad can't really help him.
Basically, if any of his personalities decides to go properly evil there's not much the world, or the multiverse, can do to stop him. Maybe some ritalin will help?
