10 Most Unhinged Comic Book Characters
4. Carnage
A serial killer with superpowers; what could go wrong? If Spider-Man thought Venom was brutal, what with his snarling temper and tendency to literally eat people, then he had no idea how good he had it. Carnage was, really, the result of a careless symbiote breaking Eddie Brock (the man behind the goop of Venom) and leaving one of its offspring behind.
This newborn power bestower fused with the long troubled Cletus Kasady, who had shared a cell with Brock, and thus a terrifying antagonist was born. The blood red ensemble that sets him apart from other symbiote instilled individuals is a result of the symbiote fusing especially strongly to Kasady through his blood, which makes him both badass and a bonafide horror icon.
Over the years Carnage has proven himself to be strong enough to take on multiple heroes at a time, notable Spider-Man and Venom simultaneously, and homicidal enough to try to kill even after being torn from the symbiote. That's both Kasady and the symbiote trying to murder, by the bye, so they're as bad as each other.
Also, not even a lobotomy stopped Carnage from being Carnage, so maybe attempting counselling is a bit of a moot point.
