10 Non-Superhero Comics You Didn't Know Were Becoming Films And TV Shows
7. Injection
Warren Ellis has already proven with hit animated series Castlevania that his works translate well to the screen, and Injection, with illustrations by Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire, may just be another hit.
An unusual yet intriguing concept, five highly specialised individuals brought together to fix the world's future problems develop an advanced AI made of both sophisticated technology and magic. After disbanding, however, these five have to come back together when their AI starts wreaking havoc.
This series is heavy with references to British literature and pop culture, and Warren Ellis's penchant for tongue-in-cheek and ridiculous, yet nuanced, exciting and intelligent storytelling, brings it all together. This isn't even mentioning the fascinating cast of oddball characters and their unique abilities, specialities, and personalities.
This series, optioned by Universal Cable Productions in 2018, may just make for another awesome high concept sci-fi/fantasy mishmash, with works such as Doctor Who already proving such shows have an audience. And if Ellis is brought in to helm the writing, there's even more to look forward to.
