Peter Parkers primary source of income over the decades has been as a photographer taking pictures of himse...sorry, I mean Spider-Man, for the Daily Bugle. Quick question, has Peter ever actually earned money for a picture not featuring Spider-Man? Anyway, Peter was blacklisted from the news media after it was discovered that he doctored a photo to make J. Jonah Jameson look like he fought the Vulture off during an attack at city hall. Luckily for Peter, his 'typical Parker luck' didnt last for long. While the publics perception of Spider-Man was continually improving, Peter was able to score a job at Horizon Labs, a science and engineering company at the forefront of all new and advanced technology, and not just any job. Peter is one of seven scientists who have their own labs and are able to create whatever they want so long as it's beneficial for society. Fans of Spider-Man will know that Peter is quite intelligent and adept at creating gadgets, but hes never been able to use this knowledge in a professional capacity. Not only is Peter helping create new technology that's helping others, but hes also has the privacy to create gadgets that help him do his job as Spider-Man better. Peters boss Max Modell eventually sees how Peter disappears during emergencies involving Spider-Man at the lab and comes to a logical conclusion: Peter is Spideys gadget supplier, which is technically half-true. Luckily for Peter, Modell allows him to continue his work for Spidey so long as it doesnt interfere with his normal Horizon Labs duties. Horizon Labs has also proved beneficial to Otto Octavius, who uses the lab to build his Spider-Bots and other sinister devices while he inhabits Peters body. Peter may be Marvels most famous photographer, but his job at Horizon Labs utilises his talents in a way that help both himself and others. Hes always been extremely smart, and now hes getting paid to use his intelligence in whatever way he chooses. Since he started working there, not only have his inventions helped others and sold well in the market, but hes been able to create technologies that have helped him save the day as Spider-Man, whether it was during Spider-Island or the Ends of the Earth event. Sure we miss seeing the irony of Peter getting paid taking for taking pictures of himself, but his job at Horizon Labs has enabled him to do more good overall.
