10 Reasons Being A Comic Book Fan Is Bad For Your Health

9. The Post Comic-Con Illness

Much like fresher€™s flu at universities, this is now a documented phenomena. Having so many people (many of which are lacking in personal hygiene) in one place means that germs spread like wildfire, and this causes a mass illness that hits pretty much every attendee of the convention. In a bid to get all the value they can from expensive tickets, people choose to deny themselves precious food and water, making them even more susceptible to the thousands of microbes and germs trying to attack them. A runny nose, headaches and general tiredness accompany the post Comic-Con blues, making the first few days after the event feel even longer than the first week back at work in January. The illness is in no way life threatening, but it will hit most comic book fans who have been lucky enough to make the hallowed journey to Comic-Con. It only lasts a few days, but it is like a hellish fury unleashed upon comic fans - even though it is pretty much self inflicted by the act of going to the convention in the first place.
