7. Everyone's Out Of Character #1: Bruce
Andy Kubert has written Bruce completely out of character in this book. So the twist in issue #1 is that "Batman" dies but it turns out that it's not actually Bruce wearing the cowl, it's Dick, and Bruce has been retired for years. Damian sets out to avenge his friend's passing and winds up killing some of Batman's minor rogues. Bruce's response? To try to kill Damian, his own son?! He launches himself at Damian at the start of issue #2 saying things like "I'm finishing this right now!" and "I'm going to make damn sure it doesn't happen again". Apparently, Batman's rogues mean more to Bruce than his own son! That's not how the Bruce/Damian relationship has been written AT ALL. Like I said at the start, one of the reasons readers embraced Damian so much was his developing relationship with his father, whom he came to love wholeheartedly - seeing Bruce try to kill Damian over some nothing rogues when Dick died is an utterly moronic response from Bruce and totally out of character.
