Miles Morales has grown to be one of the most popular Marvel characters and in just less than a decade he has risen to be one of the most important characters in the main Marvel continuity, playing a key role from 2015 onwards.
Miles steps up to the mantle of Spider-Man with the blessing of Aunt May and Mary Jane and went on to introduce a whole new cast of supporting characters and villains while staying true to the spirit of Spider-Man. He really is a true successor to the mantle and deserves to be called Spider-Man. The importance of Miles Morales as a character in modern pop-culture also cannot be overstated, as he embodies the idea that anyone can see themselves as Spider-Man.
