10 Reasons Why Batman Needs Alfred Back
5. Wayne Manor
Without Alfred, who is taking care of Wayne Manor? Who is making that dusty old mansion a home for Bruce and the one or more teenagers that live there? Who is preparing dinner? Who is making sure that Bruce Wayne has the proper suit for the gala where he absolutely has to be seen?
There are many things that Alfred must have taken care of that Bruce would probably never think about. Who is paying the monthly bills now that Alfred is gone? Who is going to the grocery store every week? It is doubtful that Mr. Wayne has the time to deal with the hundreds of mundane but necessary things that it takes to run a household and raise teenagers. Does he honestly even know where his checkbook is?
Wayne Manor was more than just a dusty old museum. It was a real home to Bruce Wayne and the four young boys that he helped raise, and all the credit for that goes completely to Alfred Pennyworth. Not only did he clean the place, cook the meals and pay the bills, but he created a home for the heroes to come back to after their nightly battles. It was a safe space where they could rest their heads, have their wounds mended, and just be normal for a while. Well, as normal as ultra-rich people living in a mansion could be.
