10 Reasons Why X-Men Are Actually Better Than The Avengers

2. The Brotherhood

The Avengers aren't short of some brilliant villains, and it's perhaps even true that some of them impart a sense of scale none in the X-Men's library could match. Even so, there is one thing the X-Men have that the Avengers do not - a recurring supervillain team who are just as famous.

The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants might not be as evil as they once were, but they are synonymous with the X-Men and boast a formidable lineup. At the front is Magneto, a morally ambiguous anti-villain who takes the business of mutant liberation extremely seriously. Next to him are the likes of Mystique, Sabretooth, Pyro and the Blob, with various other figures coming and going in between.

The Brotherhood have taken on various guises over the years, but each individual member is instantly recognisable and has been through a great deal. The Master of Magnetism himself has gone from being an outright tyrant to a less hateful figure, while his twin children Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver both eventually went on to serve as Avengers in the years following their introduction.

Earth's Mightiest Heroes have the Masters of Evil, Thanos, Kang and countless others. But there's a personal nature to the rivalry between Xavier and Magneto that can't be topped.
