Estimated wealth: $98bn One of Luthor's big wins was when he scored the contract to rebuild Gotham City after it was decimated by a series of enormous earthquakes. Well, that is until Batman figures out what he's up to (he actually wants complete control of the city), scares him off, and Wayne Enterprises takes over the reconstruction. Starting a whole city from scratch would take enough as it is, but factor in the night-to-night cost of being the Caped Crusader, and you just know that Bruce Wayne is all about the Benjamins. And striking fear into the heart of criminals everywhere. And the Benjamins. According to Batman expert Chris Sims' in-depth report on the finances of Wayne Enterprises, the Dark Knight has more than enough to be getting on with. Parlaying his inheritance of both money and business from his parents, the orphaned Bruce Wayne has turned his father's company into a global conglomerate that makes its profits from ground-breaking consumer technology, military and police contracts, and the running of the Arkham Asylum prison from the criminally insane. They also own other considerable assets, including the Daily Planet newspaper, and until recently were funding Batman, Inc, the vigilante's attempt to bring justice to the world at large by franchising out the Batman identity. The stockholders liked that one. And that's just the money Wayne Industries brings in!
