8. Giant-Sized X-Men: Nightcrawler
Most of the mutants of the world have moved to Krakoa and the former Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters has been all but forgotten. The only problem is that someone or something is triggering the gate to Krakoa at the school. A team is sent consisting of Nightcrawler, Magik, Cypher, Eye-Boy, and Lockheed. When they arrive, Kurt possibly sees Thunderbird.
Everyone next sees the believed-dead Rachel Summers but she is dressed as a hound and is speaking an alien language. Doug fell through a pulsating fibrous wall and emerged in a large room with a glowing orb. Meanwhile, Rachel is talking about sleepwalking, being scared, and needing help. Rachel’s body then disintegrates into thousands of Sidri, a race of intergalactic bounty hunters. Eye-boy, Kurt and Lockheed stay to fight the aliens while Magik discs away to find Doug.
Doug also encountered the Sidri and has been using his mutant power to talk to them. He found out the truth and returned to the rest of the team as the horde had stopped attacking them. It turned out that Lady Mastermind had come to the mansion to use the gate and disturbed their nest. It was her power that created the “ghosts.” A tentative agreement was reached with the Sidri agreeing to leave the gate alone if they could nest there in peace.
