10 Sci-Fi Movies That Deserve A Sequel

3. Spaceballs

Spaceballs arrived in 1987 to get across a more light-hearted look at science fiction.

A lot of its success came down to the talent they got onboard. Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman and John Candy are all hysterical throughout the film, making sure each joke lands with the right amount of impact. Yet at the time, critics weren't too kind to it.

After more than thirty years without a sci-fi oriented parody movie, there's sure to be a lot of pent-up sci-fi humour waiting to be parodied. The original Spaceballs was most heavily focused on Star Wars, so where could the sequel go? Many a massive sci-fi flick has arrived on our screens and provided the writing is sharp enough, a second release could propel this classic comedy back into public consciousness.
