10 Secrets Hidden In Famous Comics

1. Spider-Man's 'Harras Slander Variant' - Universe X: Spidey

Marvel Comics

Equal parts a hidden secret and a complete diss to an integral (if controversial) member of Marvel Comics, the first print of Universe X: Spidey contained an unabashed diss of Bob Harras in its pages.

Concealed in a bookcase, the message reads "HARRAS HA HA, HE'S GONE, GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH, HE WAS A NASTY LITTLE S.O.B" - which is the kind of message that, when discovered, was impossible to read as anything but a complete slander of Marvel's ex-editor-in-chief.

Harras had naturally caused some ire in the office by being closely related to the much-hated Clone Saga Spider-Man storyline, which appears to have translated into this particularly bitter send-off.

The issue now retails for roughly ten times its original price, meaning that although this was a negative press day for Marvel, it was one that gained a bizarrely popular sort of notoriety.
