10 Shocking Times The Justice League Turned On Each Other

1. Tower Of Babel

Superman Vs Wonder Woman
DC Comics

This Mark Waid-penned storyline is a seminal example of Batman's revered (and ridiculed in equal measure) prep time abilities. Essentially, the Dark Knight has contingency plans to defeat foes of any kind, even those as powerful as his Justice League teammates.

This level of preparedness comes back to bite Batman and the League as a whole when Ra's al Ghul steals the plans and systematically takes down each member to make way for his plan to destroy civilization by rendering human forms of communication useless. The plans are brutally efficient in how they target each Leaguer's specific weaknesses, and the Caped Crusader himself is targeted as well.

Fortunately, the League overcomes the attack and manages to foil the Demon's plans before he succeeds. However, the team then turns their anger towards Batman, who claims that the plans were a necessary evil designed in the event the League turned evil.

The story may not have any Leaguers coming to blows but it demonstrates how Batman's pragmatic sensibilities do not gel well with his teammates. It also shows how easily the League can be exploited by one of their own, even if the intent was noble.
