6. Infinite Crisis
The mid-2000s storyline is one of DC's most ambitious projects and reintroduced the multiverse and characters such as Superman of Earth-2 and Alex Luthor into DC lore. The stories leading up to the event were just as consequential and managed to tear the heroes apart at the worst time possible.
The most prolific clash happens in a buildup story and centres on Wonder Woman taking on a mind-controlled Superman. Maxwell Lord has taken control of the Man of Steel and in his delirious state, the hero severely injures Batman and poses a threat to the world.
Diana and Kal's clash is devastating and both heroes manage to land heavy blows on the other, with Diana more than holding her own against her more powerful teammate. The fight comes to an end when the Amazon kills Lord, releasing Clark from his thrall.
The fight and its conclusion leave the DC Trinity at odds, with the three heroes losing their faith in each other.
