10 Strangest Batman Crossovers Ever

3. Batman And Harry Houdini - Batman/Houdini: Devil's Workshop

Batman Elmer Fudd Looney Tunes Crossover
DC Comics

This is a crossover few probably saw coming but writers Howard Chaykin and John Francis Moore saw something none of us did.

Released in 1993, this one-off comic sees Harry Houdini make his DC debut as he finds himself in Gotham City for an escape and magic act.

Although it strangely makes sense for The Bat to meet the most famous escape artist in history it can be incredibly uncanny to see an actual historic figure in comic books.

After arriving in Gotham on tour, Houdini is aware of the child kidnappings that are happening around Gotham and wishes there's something he can do to help.

Cue, teaming up with Batman to find the missing kids.

The comic is narrated mainly by Harry Houdini himself, as he compares his poor upbringing to Bruce Wayne's rich one. It also highlights that Batman learnt many of his disappearing skills from studying Houdini's work.

This is another Elseworlds DC Comic, meaning that this is a non-canon story. However, Harry Houdini does fit into the brooding tone of Gotham surprisingly well.
