1. Turbo-Teen
Perhaps the strangest Kirby creation occurred during one of his few bouts into animation. Turbo-Teen was a show that ran thirteen episodes from 1984 to 1985 on ABC. The designs for the Turbo-Teen were sketched by none other than the Kirby himself. The series follows teenager Brett Matthews, who crashes his sports car into a government facility during a thunderstorm. He collides with a machine that merges him with his vehicle, enabling him to transform into a car and thus turning him into a Turbo-Teen. As if being a kid that can change into a car wasnt lame enough, Brett has a rather inconvenient catch to his power. He can only turn into a vehicle-person hybrid when exposed to extreme heat, and can only revert back to being only human under conditions of extreme cold. Also, its got to be extremely uncomfortable having your appendages magically replaced by wheels.
