10 Superhero Comic Deaths (That Didn't Mean Anything)
6. Barry Allen
Barry Allen was not the first Speedster in the DCU. However, Barry was known for becoming the Flash, a faster-than-anything superhero that saved the day by out-running his foes and beating them into submission. He would do detective work as well, and occasionally smooch his wife, but, at the end of the day, he was known as "The Fastest Man Alive." He also sacrificed his life during the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, stopping the Anti-Monitor from enacting his backup scheme of destroying the multiple Earths (weird, but good story). His death basically paved the way for victory for the Justice League and he was mourned for his heroism. Flash-forward to the aftermath and throughout the next few decades, as we witness the next version of the Flash, Wally West. Wally is the Flash that has been featured in the Justice League cartoons, as well as the fan-favourite that dominated The Flash comic books for years and years. He was the Flash. Barry Allen was a memory. But due to the events of Grant Morrisons Final Crisis, Barry Allen came back and took over The Flash comics, leaving Wally dangling at the way-side. And since the New 52 stuff from DC, Wally has only recently been featured in comics again, though he still doesn't hold the main spotlight for the series, much to the dismay of Flash fans everywhere.
