10 Superheroes You Didn't Know Had Shameful Origins

1. Wolverine

Wolverine€™s past is a source of hot debate - and has even spawned two spinoff origins (he was purported at one time to be a mutated wolverine cub) which as yet remained unused in the comic canon. What€™s definitely known is his kidnapping by the Weapon X committee, who hold him against his will and infuse his bones with unbreakable adamantium. This is standard X-lore. What€™s not widely discussed is his upbringing, before his skeleton started making airport security detectors sing. As a young lad named James Howlett born into the affluent lifestyle of John and Elizabeth Howlett, Wolvie began to grapple with his rage - and his retractable claws. After witnessing the family€™s old groundskeeper break into his family€™s abode and murder his father in cold blood, young Wolvie loses it. Busting out his boney death stakes, he kills the intruder. As origins go, it€™s not out of the realms of the norm. Well, that€™s not strictly true. After killing the man, he discovers the burglar was in fact his biological father, Thomas Logan, and his mother€™s true love. She can€™t face Wolvie after this so kicks him out - then blows her head off with a shotgun. That€™s a heaping pile o€™ tragedy right there, no wonder it took nearly thirty years for his origin story to surface. Like this article? Let us know in the comments section below.
