10 Superheroes Screwed Over By Reboots
5. Starfire
With the final five, we move into the absolute worst of the worst, so let's start with one of the most controversial reboots in comic history: the reboot of Starfire in Red Hood And The Outlaws.
If you grew up with the original Teen Titans show in the early 2000s, then you likely fell in love with the little known DC heroine Starfire. Maybe you even started reading about her in the comics. So when the New 52 rolled around and put Starfire in a mainline book that was getting a ton of press - Red Hood And The Outlaws - DC fans young and old rejoiced.
Then the book came out. And this is where the use of the term "screwed over" becomes uh... ironic. Because not only do they erase Starfire's history with the Titans, but they also make her obsessed with having no strings attached sex with anyone she comes across. Because..."genetics"?
Quite a far cry from the multilayered character fans grew up with in the original comics and the cartoon. And one that later writers have understandably dedicated all of their energies to getting as far away from as they possibly can.
