Over the years, Johnny Storm has been battered by the Mole Man's monsters, Doctor Doom, and Galactus more times than he can count. He is able to withstand such encounters because he has heightened durability when he is in his fire-form.

At first, this probably doesn't sound like much of a surprise. How else could you explain Flamebrain surviving being pummelled by inter-dimensional demons, aliens, and demi-gods?

But even die-hard FF fans may not realise just how durable Johnny can be. He can endure more than his rocky teammate, the Thing. On several occasions, he has withstood being struck by Namor the Sub-Mariner; one of the world's strongest mutants.

In Fantastic Four #249, Johnny got punched by the Praetor of the Sh'iar, Gladiator. For the record, Gladiator is four times stronger than Thanos and he has knocked out the Mad Titan with a single punch.

When the Sh'iar warrior struck Johnny, all it did was knock the wind out of him. Based on that confrontation, it's a safe bet that the Human Torch is one of the most durable people on Earth.
