Garth, AKA Tempest--the first Aqualad--has more powers than I could describe in a single article, from the obvious ability to breathe both air and water, and the super strength and durability that's typical of Atlanteans, to optic energy blasts, hydrokinesis, teleportation, temperature-manipulation, and so on, but his most impressive abilities revolve around his affinity for magick.

Depending on which comic you're reading Garth was trained either by Atlan or the Silent School, but either way he's a top tier powerhouse.

He's gone toe to toe against gods, cut a hole in reality to create a portal to the void, and he once sent the entire continent of Atlantis back in time 3,000 years! He even knocked The Spectre on his ass during the Day of Vengeance! Ultimately Tempest lost that fight, but it was a huge display of power nonetheless.

Garth has beaten Donna Troy--who's on par with Wonder Woman--in a fist fight, on land, without even using his more impressive powers. He's displayed the ability to create hurricanes, and he once defeated an enemy with the combined powers of Poseidon and Neptune. Superman wouldn't stand a chance against him.
